Update (June 20-July20)

Another slow month. It's cool getting notices of sales through Traffic Payouts or Click Bank though.

I have been concentrating a little bit more on my Shaklee business. I ordered some Golden Ticket Movies so I can give them out to people or send them to people who request them on the internet. It costs them $7.95 for the shipping & handling.

The movie explaines Shaklee and the business opportunity and is very informative and exciting. To see the earning potential is very exciting also, especially when I know someone personally who is making money with them. I have already earned checks 4 out of 5 months that I have been with them. It's not a massive amout, obviously, but it is encouraging!

Here are my stats for the month:

Newsletter Signups: 33; SFI: 8; Shaklee: 4 placed in my downline; 2 Traffic Payout Sales

I have been submitting my site to directories, posting classifieds, posting on forums, blogging, article submissions have slowed.

Update (May 20-June20)

This month has been slow, to say the least. I haven't been doing the activities that I should be in order to build back links and get more traffic to my site.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still doing something almost every day, but I should be doing more.

In the PIPS Power Group Forum there is a contest going one for summer. The one with the most improvement will win the prize. The members there are doing well and I wish I was doing as well.

I have been submitting my site to link directories, surfing traffic exchanges a bit (not nearly enough), submitting articles to directories (I have to get writing some more), blogging a little bit and participating in forums.

Here are my stats: Newsletter signups: 70; SFI: 12; Shaklee: 8 in my downline since joining Feb 22 (this has earned me a check 3 out of 4 months). Since my last update I've had people drop out of PIPS or let their credit card decline for the hosting, so that means I'm down to 2 PIPS signups again. It's too bad that people think this business is going to bring them instant riches! Oh well, on to the next.

I just try and remind myself that if I want this business to bring me success, then I have to put the work and effort into it!!

Monthly Update

Life likes to throw twists and turns at us along the way and that is what has happened to me recently. As in my last post, my dad has been ill and it's a difficult time.

I have been spending minimal time on my business due to being in Toronto for 2 weeks and being at my dad's house since he's been home. He got home a week after I left.

It ended up that my dad's cancer led him to have to have his leg amputated. He came home for a week or so and now he is back at the hospital for rehab. He will spend a month or so there so he can become somewhat ambulatory.

Despite this difficult time and uncertainty my business still moved on. I didn't do too much with it but I still got subscribers and signups here and there.

Here are my stats from April 6 - May 20, 2008: Newsletter signups: 91; SFI: 15; Empowerism: 1; Host4Profit: 1 (full PIPS); 1 Clickbank sale

My Shaklee referral was removed due to not paying and no working email.

Even when life gets in the way I don't plan on giving up my dream of making enough money with my home business to provide a better life for my family. Don't ever give up!

Personal Ups and Downs

The best thing about a work at home business is that when personal issues come up I don't have to worry about taking time off or explaining to a boss what's going on.

The business may have a little down time but I know I can get it going again when I get working and putting more effort into it. That has been the case for a few weeks here.

My dad has been ill and having a lot of pain for the last 4 months. We just found out he has a cancerous tumour on the bone in the upper thigh:( It's been a stressful and sad time for us but we will get through it.

We are waiting for the doctor in the city where he may get surgery to do his testing so he can treat him. In the meantime we are just trying to keep his pain under control, which is not easy. I hate seeing my dad in this condition.

Ok, here are my stats from March 6- April 5: Newsletter signups: 37; SFI: 8; Empowerism: 1; LAB: 2; Traffic Swarm: 2; Host4Profit: 1 (full PIPS); Shaklee: 2 placed under me and 1 referral, but has not paid for his order yet, so not sure what his plans are.

Take care everyone and good luck with your business ventures!

How Much Time to Spend On Business

It seems like I'm on the computer from sun up to sun down! I think in the beginning or until things get going a lot of time is required to start the wheels of a business rolling. I spend my days submitting articles, blogging, clicking on the traffic exchanges, and posting in forums. A schedule is important but it seems I can't get a set schedule down right now. I'm on and off through out the whole day. My kids get what they need and then I'm back on the computer.

You know what takes up the most time? Those pesky traffic exchanges! I have to click continuously or my credits go down and I have to catch up all over again. I try to spend at least an hour of continuous clicking a day. I think I spend more time than that though. It takes a while to get the credits up. I also notice that if I don't click I don't get many hits to my sites. All along I thought I was building up credits so my site could be seen while I was away. When I click a lot I can get over a hundred views but when I don't I get maybe 10!!

It defeats the purpose of building credits, I think. I want my site seen when I can't click! Oh well, it gives me a reason to click every day. Can you tell I'm not too fond of this whole clicking thing? I seem to post about it a lot lol.

I tried the article submission, as I wrote about in an earlier post, but it doesn't seem to have done much so far. I got one confirmation and my links have not went up significantly. Hopefully soon they will. My links go up and down a lot. I should only check it once a month so I don't see so much fluctuation. Google is so hard for links. I had 7 then it went down to 1 then it when up to 7 again and now it's at 5. I think I should have more than that. When I do a search lots come up and a lot of higher PR sites have my link.

I still have not gotten a sign up for PIPS but I know it's coming soon. I'm still remaining positive and I still love the program. I've learned so much from it. My day is around the corner and believe me you'll hear about it lol.
